ABOUT US
The CHINCHILEJO Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) affiliated with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). As a non-profit institution of applied knowledge, it promotes the transition toward sustainable economies through research, training, and collective action. Its work focuses on the conservation and responsible management of natural resources, the protection of biodiversity, and the empowerment of communities to achieve sustainable progress at local, regional, and national levels.
The Foundation understands that the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of human life must be seen as an integrated whole, where harmony and balance among the parts are essential to addressing global challenges. It also advances the creation of knowledge through science, philosophy, and art, recognizing them as fundamental means for humanity’s evolution.
STRATEGIC VISION

As a global institution of applied knowledge, the CHINCHILEJO Foundation is committed to designing impactful initiatives that advance sustainability. We work to create lasting solutions to contemporary challenges by relying on the best available science, resources, and coordinated action.
We recognize that humanity’s progress depends on the practical application of sustainable practices. The current economic model, by neglecting the responsible use of natural resources and ecological rhythms, threatens the very continuity of life. To avoid this collapse, it is essential to move decisively toward resilient and inclusive economies. This shift requires dialogue and cooperation between managers, communities, and governments, always prioritizing the needs of people as the foundation of a balanced and fair production system.
What is sustainable development?
Sustainable development is an integrative framework that seeks harmony between economic growth, social well‑being, and environmental protection. It calls for long‑term planning and collaboration across sectors, ensuring present needs are met without undermining the capacity of future generations. Through this holistic vision, societies can build resilience, equity, and shared prosperity.
STRATEGIC MISSION

The development of joint initiatives between communities and local governments is essential for creating solid structures that support sustainable development. This coordinated effort should operate at local, regional, national, and global levels. It is crucial to eliminate fragmentation and duplication of functions among various institutions to effectively promote sustainable development. Moreover, building new agreements can provide strong leadership and direction in addressing global challenges related to sustainable development.
OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

In 2023, the CHINCHILEJO Foundation achieved the following:
- 4 international initiatives & liaisons.
- 10 sustainable development projects.
- 833 supported families.
- 5 empowered marginalized communities.
OUR HISTORY

Given the current global challenges—such as persistent hunger and unequal access to resources—a group of committed professionals came together to design concrete solutions. After extensive research and trials, they formally established the CHINCHILEJO Foundation on August 27, 2023, by law and regulation.
The Foundation places Sustainable Development at the heart of economic progress, offering a lasting alternative to unsustainable policies that prioritize short-term gains. Recognizing that biodiversity loss poses a direct threat to human well-being, food security, and the future of life itself, the Foundation works to build practical, science-based responses.
Emerging as a true instrument for collective progress, the CHINCHILEJO Foundation is committed to creating viable and enduring solutions that secure both life and sustainable development for generations to come.
