The preserve and management project consists of a collaborative agreement with local government for the people of Jenaro Herrera and the twelve nearby communities to encourage cultural and nature tourism, as well as connecting isolated Amazon communities to international markets.
To achieve the goals of this project the Chinchilejo Foundation is focused on four main areas:
- Collaborative agreements with local government for the research, design and development of alternatives for economic development, environmental sanitation, and social welfare within a framework of Sustainable Development.
- Design of strategies together with the community to promote cultural and nature tourism in the region.
- Facilitation of the web portal Chinchilejo Market in which isolated communities can access international commerce for selling their artisan products.
